The difference between growth and endurance
Resilience I build for myself, because I want to, because I notice where I fall apart and decide I want that to change, is one of the most valuable things a person can develop. It is an expression of self-responsibility. It comes from a genuine decision, a real drive, an honest desire to grow.Resilience that others expect of me, because their structures produce pressure that does not need to exist, is something different. It is not development. It is a compensatory performance for someone else's failure to act.

The difference is not in the word. It is in the direction of responsibility. Am I growing because I choose to?
Or am I enduring because someone else is unwilling to change what could be changed?

This is not a philosophical question. It is a practical one. And it deserves an honest answer before anyone starts working on becoming more resilient.
